Hidden in the community, the 28 Bald Cypress Garden in Juetou Village, Huwei, Yunlin has a magnificent view with several hundreds of bald cypresses planted in two rows. Local residents offer the land for free to grow bald cypresses and take care of this place together with the chief of village, Mr. Wanshou Lee.
Juetou Village renovated the old community and brought a new look to the environment. Though the bald cypress hasn't changed its color, tourists can’t resist such a forest view with the water reflection of the rows of the trees against the blue sky and white clouds.
Asides from bald cypresses, it is the blooming season of Floss-silk Tree now. The avenue with Floss-silk Tree is 2 km long and its peach red flowers make a picturesque view, even in fall/winter, tourists can roam in so pink a floral sea. The avenue of Floss-silk Tree is located between Qingyun Rd., and Jiancheng Rd., when arriving at Jiancheng Rd., you will see the pink avenue.
The Floss-silk Trees and the nearby trees form a tunnel in which many tourists stroll and it is a great destination for families with children to come.
Yong-guang pastry shop in Lin-nei, a time honored pastry with a history of 50 years, sells buns bigger than faces. There are only cream and chocolate flavors for these big buns. You will have to queue a long time when the buns are just out of the oven. Order in advance in case you go get nothing.
The flowing-out fragrant cream makes my mouth water; if you come to Lin-nei, don’t miss Yong-guang pastry shop which I highly recommend!
The Museum of Farming and Hydraulics in Lin-nei is also a destination with bald cypresses, which are turning red on both sides of the aqueduct outside of the museum. The Museum of Farming and Hydraulics is around 2 hectares large. Asides from the bald cypresses, there is a unique hydraulic construction, including the connecting aqueduct on the south bank of Jiji Weir, Lin-nei Diversion Work, Zhuoshi Power Plant, Zhuoshui Intake, for both educational and touristic purposes.
Though it is already an well-known destination, there are still many tourists coming to Lin-nei to experience the atmosphere and the slow relaxing life pace in the country side. Coming to Yunlin to watch the colorful bald cypresses in winter, tourists can go to scenic spots in nearby Hu-wei and Lin-nei. I truly recommend a one day trip to Yunlin for bald cypresses in winter.
