Introduction
A member of the lily family, the Daylily is an herbaceous plant growing from tuberous roots with tall stems and linear leaves. It flowers from summer to autumn. Dozens of species are cultivated in Taiwan, with Taitung the main producing site. Do not ingest daylilies at random, as only some of the flowers are edible; ornamental varieties contain mild toxins.
