Bowls and cups are made with our hands and wills, as the clay spins, the work is slowly formed and this is the fun of doing pottery. Before throwing, the staff will introduce skills and techniques of doing pottery as well as the dos and don’ts. During the casting, hand stability is challenging so if doing pottery in haste, the clay would be ruined and we made futile efforts. Photo: Throwing requires stability. Doing in haste would make futile efforts . The show time comes after the introduction. Though it doesn’t take much time making a bowl or a cup, it still requires 15 minutes even if you take it easy. Before the making, you can first think about the shape to form; during the making, there is no need to get nervous when the shape doesn’t meet expectations, which is common. If your bowl or cup gets asymmetrical, pumping yourself up for “Each piece is unique.” Photo: it is ok if it doesn’t look good. The work of one’s own is unique. Asides from doing the pottery, there are also parents bringing kids here to make clay prints to mark the growth. The fired slab is a keepsake to hang at home.
