Recommended Route: Tourist Information Center in Yangmei Leisure Agricultural Area → Mesona Floral Sea (flower season: November to December)→ Yaohui Leisure Ranch (Tianmama Certified Yaohui Pastry Shop)→ Fatty Succulent Garden→ Asia Plant Organic Farm
This 12km long route is fairly easy and rated one star as its difficulty and it takes around 40 minutes to finish.
Yangmei Mesona Flower Festival is held from November 20th to December 5th. Travelers on their bikes can enjoy the arts and landscapes, as if in the purple fairy land and surrounded by mesona flowers which bring bountiful happiness. There are also DIY bonsai activities during the festival so that travelers can bring the little handcraft home to last the joy.

Ermei, the most southern township in Hsinchu County, is the origin of production of Oriental Beauty. River Ermei winds through the town and its confluence is Dapu Reservoir, a.k.a Lake Ermei. Shierliao Leisure Agricultural Area is on the surrounding of Lake Ermei, and there is a bikeway around the lake in the township.
Shierliao Bikeway has two parts, Huanhu Bikeway and the section between Shierliao and Shishan Tourist Information Center. The former goes through Shierliao, Shisiliao, Chikeping, etc. where are filled with hills, lakes, and villages. Travelers can bike through the suspension bridge in Ximaopu to overlook the lake. This route is ideal for parents with children.
Travelers can rent the bikes and shop quality tea at Fuxing Tea Sales Center. The idyllic scenery along the route includes flocks of the great egrets, the yellow headed herons and night herons in winters. The number of these birds makes a splendid view! Some sections of the route are steeper with hill views; plains are mostly on the Jiuliao Section and there are many villages; Huguang Agricultural Produce Center is in Shierliao where bike rental and dining services are available.
The view along the section between Shierliao and Shishan Tourist Information Center includes hills and lakes, and the windy route and steep slopes make it rather challenging. The hilly route makes the ride less easy, and the bikeway surrounds Lake Ermei so there are a bountiful of forests and valleys This route is for those familiar with cycling in the mountainous terrains and gear changing skills.
Route A: From Shishan Tourist Information Center to Shierliao Leisure Agricultural Area, with a distance around 6.7km.
Route B: Shierliao Leisure Agricultural Area→ Huanhu around Lake Ermei→ Fuxing Tea Sales Center, with a distance of 7.3km.

The most famous 2 bikeways in Taichung are Houli Bikeway and Dongfeng Bicycle Green Way. The former is around 5 km long and it begins at Houli Mamaland, on the way are the steel beam bridge across River Dajia and the uniquely constructed tunnel for the mountain line trains. The route is flat and easy.
Dongfeng Bicycle Green Way with a total distance around 13.6 km is renovated from the wasted railroad and the scenery along the way includes all kinds of rail features, such as the gazebo renovated from a train platform, railways parallel to the bikeway, and a memorial park for Earthquake 921. The plants and trees on the way make the bikeway like a “Green River Dajia” that shines against the nearby blue river.
Malipu Leisure Agricultural Area is nearby and has not much industrial development for a long time so the farming lifestyle is still found in the community. A short stay here offers urbanites living in the concrete jungle the country views different from cities. A strong country atmosphere is felt in the colorful paths which feature local culture so that travelers can ride the bikes shuttling in between lanes and alleys, and have a glimpse at locals’ life through the murals.

Coming to Sun Moon Lake, travelers must try one of the recommended sports, cycling along the lake. CNN picked this route as one of the top 10 bike ways around the globe. This route is 30km long and those avid cyclists are welcome to come challenge it. The length and difficulty for each section of the bikeway varies, so the travelers are recommended to choose the routes that fit their own physical conditions, strength and health.
The most famous section is between Xiangshan Tourist Information Center and Shuishe Tourist Information Center, totaled 3.4km approximately.There is a 400m long bikeway over the water that gives travelers a feeling as if they were rowing on water and the scenery along is awesome.
Travelers can cycle from Checheng along River Suili in the nearby Checheng Leisure Agricultural Area and visit the display center of local lumber industry, Shuili Small Town, and enjoy the lovely view of River Shuili as well as grasp the prosperity brought by lumbers in those days. The bikeway is quite flat with little ups-and-downs and there are gazebos for taking a rest on the way, so it is a classic leisure route for parents and children to bike and enjoy the riverbank view.

Changhua County is the crucial center of bicycle industry so the 12km routes from Xihu to Erlin connect Erlin Township and Dongluoxi passages/ Xihu Sugar Factory/ Tianwei Road Park to build a green and low carbon lifestyle. Travelers can start at Tianwei Road Park, bike along River Dongluo and pass the bikeway on Highway19 to go south bound to Erlin Science Park, Pitou and Erlin and the scenery includes floral fields in Tianwei Road Park, the railways for the carts carrying sugar in the old times and the fertile Changhua plains. Travelers will feel relaxed and enjoy the beautiful country view, as well as have a good parent -and-child time on the way.
Recommended Route:
Dongluoxi Bikeway → Kapok (blossom in March) Passage in Erlin → Dongluoxi Leisure Farm → Taiwan Cellar → Erbashui Restaurant
The total distance is around 25km and it takes around 1.5 hours to finish.
Erlin Douyuan Leisure Agricultural Area nearby features farming activities and the terroir as well as the humanity resources. Wine grapes and table grapes , wineries, red dragon fruits, buckwheats, red barley, pears, rice, Chinese chives, Tribute Citrus, etc are the main produce in the area. This area has the most wineries across Taiwan. Strolling in the vineyards, travelers can chat with winery owners and go rice tasting activities and relish the yummy harvest meals in Dongluoxi Leisure Farm.

Meihuahu Scenic Area is the famous spot in Dongshan Township, Yilan. 3 quarters of Meihuahu (Lake Plum Blossom) is surrounded by mountains and no cars nor motorcycles are allowed to enter the scenic spot, so that biking is the best way to travel. Cycling around the lake takes around 20 minutes; couples or parents with children will all enjoy the lake and mountains.
Zhongshan Leisure Agricultural Area nearby offers one-day bike rental so the travelers can get the one-day pass to the leisure farms and tea gardens in the area and join activities such as making cypress chopsticks in Dongfeng Organic Farm, tasting pomelo - flavored pounded tea in Neishan Tea Garden, DIY lovely toy silkworm in Sangrila Leisure Farm or frying tea manually in Xiangyu Organic Farm.
Recommended Route: Tourist Information Center at Zhongshan Leisure Agricultural Area → Farming activities (with the pass) at Zhongshan Leisure Agricultural Area → Cycling around the lake at Meihuahu Scenic Area

There are multiple sections of bikeway along River Luodong. Starting at Luodong Sports Park, travelers can go north bound to watch the views at the estuary via the bikeway at Southern Bank of River Lanyang to the estuary where Guishan Island on the Pacific Ocean is in sight; or go south bound to see the farming villages via the bikeway at Southern Bank of River Luodong and this direction leads to Meihuahu Scenic Area. The total distance is 5km and it is flat and easy to cycle for families with children.
Luodong Sports Park is near Luodongxi Leisure Agricultural Area which is divided into Beicheng Area and Kelin Area, each has its unique agricultural ecology and features. Huge and emerald green lotus leaves which stand tall and dance to the wind in the lotus field are found in Beicheng Area, and views such as paddy fields, haystacks, fish culture farming, sheep farms and duck farms are in Kelin Area. Besides, thrilling and exciting water rafting activities are available in River Annong which is abound with fauna and flora resources that make it a great spot for bird watching.

Bikeway around the town in Guanshan is 12 km long and this is the first lane, with waterfront and mountain sections, dedicated to biking in Taiwan. From Guanshan Waterfront Park along the Guanshan street gutter and River Hongshi, travelers will see the crisscrossed paddy fields in the valley. The look of the fields changes according to seasons. Be it the just-sowed tender green rice seedlings or the swaying rice in the distance, travelers can fully grasp the farming atmosphere of four different seasons here in Guanshan.
The bikeway surrounding the town in Chishang is much longer with a total distance around 30 km. The famous Tree Jinchengwu and Brown Avenue makes Chishang a super popular tourist spot. It is especially enjoyable to cycle in the field with the cool breeze in spring and autumn, travelers will feel perfectly relaxed and carefree.
Brown Avenue is a short part of the whole bikeway. “The Bikeway Around Chishang Township” is on the eastern side of Highway9, the main production area of Chishang Rice. The bikeway is paved according to the terrain and the original paths and roads in the country side. The view of a vast stretch of field and the rice paddies is along the bikeway.
Chishang Recreation Farm located in Chishang Township, Taitung. Because Chishang is renowned for its rice production in Taiwan so it is also named “The Home to Rice”. The best way to move around in Chishang is biking. Either bike around or stop for a rest, travelers are in the embrace of the gorge and valley and there are all kinds of activities available for you to explore slowly in Eastern Taiwan.

Recommended Route: Dadaocheng → Sightseeing at Qianshui Bay → Sightseeing at the Viewpoint over-the-water in Zhilang Park → Sightseeing at Fuji Fishing Port → Relishing the rice dumplings at the Tianmama Certified Beihai Restaurant. The total distance is 42.2km.
The bikeway is built in a coherent approach so that it looks like a part of the coastal line along the northern coast. Many featured scenic spots, a brand new “Chilan Viewpoint Over-the-Water”, and the popular check-in venue at Qianshui Bay are along the bikeway. After sightseeing, tourists can go to Fuji Fishing Port or Tianmama Certified Beihai Restaurant to relish the tasty food or rice dumplings.

Recommended Route: Shuangxi Train Station → Shuangxi-Pinlin Leisure Farm (with the mountainous view and scrumptious dishes) → Sijiaoku Viewpoint → Lailai Geological Area. The total distance is 21.9 km.
There is a rich ecology in Shuangxi-Pinlin Leisure Farm- a great number of Tung trees, maple trees, cherry trees and fruit trees are planted in the hiking area so that tourists have different scenery to appreciate all year round.
Along the ride, tourists can enjoy not only the unique scenes of mountains and forests in Shuangxi-Pinlin Leisure Farm, but also ‘Lailai Coastal Erosion Platform”, and the geological scene looks like the scrubboard, and the glorious landscape, “Dimetric Cave” where the sun meets the sky.
Along the Coastal Bikeway in Yilan, there are many natural and man-made landscapes. Travelers can bike along the trails and enjoy the oceanic view. The road is flat and straight along the coastal line, and it leads to local community so that bikers can get up close and personal with local life.
Recommended Route: Yilan Train Station → Bambi Land → Banyan Tree Park in Donggang → Zhuangwei Dune → Tianmama Certified Kamalan Restaurant. The total distance is 43.4 km.

Recommended Route: Beihai Tourist Service Center → Yuanbei Tian Ma Ma → Bolang Sea Wall → Aimen Beach → Penghu Tourist Information Center. The total distance is 25km.
Traveling in the southern Penghu, tourists can go to the beaches to have in-depth tours in Penghu. Biking at 20km/hr to see the Pear Island around is pleasantly relaxing!

Recommended Route: Southweast Coast National Scenic Area Administration → High-Heel Wedding Church → Xianghe Leisure Fishing Farm. The total distance is 35.3km.
The route goes through famous High-Heel Wedding Church and Dongshi Fishing Harbor. There are elements such as wind, sunshine, fish, ships, ocean and lighthouse to show the multiple aspects of the ocean.
Xianghe Leisure Fishing Farm is located in Aogu Wetlands, the largest wetland in Taiwan. It has diversified ecological environment and habitats. The coastal area is rich in fishing resources; clams and oysters account for the largest economic yields. Fishing, boat rowing, clam feeling , and guided tours are available in the leisure farm and these activities bring more fun to the bike trip.

Recommended Route: Meinong Blue Line Bikeway → Meinong Leisure Agricultural Area → Lake Meinong → Dongmen Building in Meinong → Shihba Luohanshan (Eighteen Buddhist Disciples Mountain) . The total distance is 26.7 km.
This route goes through Meinong so that tourists will get to feel the atmosphere brought by the old streets and the traditional culture as well as savor local delicacies. Meinong Leisure Agricultural Area is rich in natural resources so that tourists get to grasp life in the farming village as well as the agricultural and ecological environment. Activities such as cleaning and packaging wild lotus, picking white turnips and edamame in autumn, harvesting gold sweet tomatoes in winter or trying the Hakka dye and making little paper umbrella are all part of the Hakka culture.
